Tanaka

Tanaka (タナカ, Tanaka) is the steward of the Phantomhive household. He is seen as an old family friend and loyal assistant.
Tanaka is an elderly man with silvery grey hair, mustache, and spectacles. He is seen wearing a clean suit and white gloves and is nearly always holding a cup of tea. Frequently, he is portrayed shorter and smaller than he is. On rare occasions, he "grows" to his full height, and is shown to be an intelligent, knowledgeable, and capable person. Others have been shown to stop and be quiet in order to listen to what he says.

He was injured in the past and presently does little work, but is frequently seen running around with Baldroy, Mey-Rin, and Finnian. Nonetheless, he seems to be highly respected by others, such as Sebastian Michaelis, who frequently tells him that he is doing just fine and Frances Midford, who tells Sebastian and Ciel Phantomhive to "take a lesson from Tanaka" regarding their appearances. In addition, he is kind and loyal to Ciel and his guests and to the other servants. It is also known that despite the fact that he lets the others tell him what to do and he goes along with their plans, he is actually higher in authority than Sebastian, and he is seen as the figurehead of the Funtom Company. Also despite his age, he is shown to remain strong, such as effortlessly subduing a man who attempted to harm Ciel.

Tanaka was present when Ciel Phantomhive's family was murdered, and attempted to warn Ciel to escape. In doing so, an unseen attacker stabbed him from behind, severely injuring him. It is unknown how he escaped the mansion, which was later set on fire.
He was treated at the Royal Hospital where Angelina Durless worked. The hospital was the first place Ciel went after making the contract with Sebastian. Tanaka saw him and was amazed that he was still alive. They went back to his hospital room. He then gave Sebastian his pocket watch, which he says has been passed down from one Phantomhive butler to the next.

Sebastian Michaelis

Sebastian Michaelis (セバスチャンミカエリス Sebasuchan Mikaerisu) is the demon butler of the Phantomhive household. He was also a second teir menmber of the Noah's Ark Circus Troop under orders from his master, where he went by the stage name Black (ブラック Burakku).

Sebastian takes on the appearance of a tall, male adult with black hair and red eyes. He typically dresses in an outfit consisting of black trousers, a tailcoat, vest, with the Phantomhive Crest on his shirt cuffs and tie. He also sports a pocket watch with a chain, and a chained silver lapel pin bearing the Phantomhive Crest, traditionally worn by the house's head butler.
His white gloves conceal the mark of his Faustian Contract with Ciel Phantomhive on his left hand. Occasionally, he removes his white gloves, revealing black fingernails.
Sebastian's demonic form has never been fully shown. Details of this form include high-heeled stiletto boots, a shower of black feathers, sharp claws, glowing fuchsia irises, slitted pupils, and longer, sharper teeth. Prior to transforming, Sebastian says several times that his form is unpleasant to look at. Just looking at it drove Ash Landers to hysterics, screaming that he was "unclean".

Sebastian is a dutiful and dedicated butler to Ciel Phantomhive. He follows each order faithfully, while always ensuring that the Phantomhive house runs smoothly. However, whenever Sebastian sees a cat, he ignores whatever Ciel says to him. As such, he is noticeably annoyed whenever they end up behind schedule. The way he responds to Ciel's demands is quite notable, as the servants are pleased when they can successfully imitate the way he says "Yes, my lord" to Ciel.

Despite his ability to appear like a perfectly normal human, especially one who is able to smile, be cheerful, and be understanding, Sebastian is, in actuality, quite heartless, sadistic, and malicious. This comes out when he attacks others on Ciel's orders, such as when he kicked Grell Sutcliff's face because it was the thing that Grell wanted the least damage to. It is also shown with his cruel sarcasm and his inability to see good in much of anyone. At times, Sebastian can be indifferent and deliberately delays Ciel's wellbeing, as he frequently teases him and has put his life in mild danger for his own amusement. Once, he responded to Ciel's kidnapping as "terrible" but only because the tea he prepared would go to waste. He also calls Ciel a "brat" who treats his workers rudely. However, despite all the troubles he goes through on a daily basis, he has said that he doesn't think it's such a bad way of living.
Sebastian often contemplates about the nature of human beings. He seems to find humans, in general, to be "difficult creatures," but he also states that their struggles and lofty goals make them "interesting." He is also intrigued about how insatiable they are as they are willing to "drag others down to get what they want, even in death".

Rachel Phantomhive

Countess Rachel Durless-Phantomhive (レイチェルファントムハイヴ, Reicheru Fantomuhaivu) is the late wife of Vincent Phantomhive and mother of Ciel Phantomhive, and like Ciel, she also has asthma.

Rachel, as described by Angelina Durless, was a gentle, kind, and awfully beautiful woman who never puts on airs. She has long streaks of amber blond hair, and deep blue eyes, clad in a white robe.
She was an extremely kind individual who cared greatly about her family, as she always worked to cheer Angelina up and include her in the family. She also had a bit of a playful personality, as she once complimented Angelina on her breast size while grabbing them. Like Ciel, she also had asthma, and was part of the reason Angelina worked to become a doctor, as Angelina stated that she would like to cure her asthma. She had a lot of admirable qualities, and was fortunate in marrying a man she loved and having a child, Ciel, with him. Angelina has shown that she is envious of her for these reasons, even after she died.

Vincent Phantomhive

Earl Vincent Phantomhive (ヴィンセントファントムハイヴ, Vinsento Fantomuhaivu) is the late head of the Phantomhive noble family. He is the husband of Rachel Phantomhive and father of Ciel Phantomhive, and is whom Ciel inherited his titles from.
Vincent was a handsome, well-dressed man with short, dark black hair and brown eyes, a mole under his left eye, and a kind smile.
When alive, Vincent was shown to be exceptionally kind and welcoming. This was demonstrated when he noticed that Angelina Durless is self-conscious of her red hair and he made a point to compliment it. He also welcomed Baron Kelvin into his home, and always took a minute to spare a greeting and a kind word, while others of his social status looked on with disdain. People were shown to have been easily drawn to him, as Angelina fell in love with him easily, and as a child, Ciel accompanied Vincent whenever he could, even when still recovering from being ill. He was a loving father, and his family was always very important to him.
However, he was just as capable as Ciel at manipulating individuals, and Baron Kelvin took note of him and his acquaintances as being "evil noblemen."

Ciel Phantomhive Profile ^^

Earl Ciel Phantomhive (シエルファントムハイヴ, Shieru Fantomuhaivu) is the head of the Phantomhive noble family and the son of Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive. He runs the Funtom Company and is also briefly part of the Noah's Ark Circus, where he goes by the stage name Smile (スマイル, Sumairu). He is the main protagonist of the Kuroshitsujiseries.Ciel is a young male with blue eyes and dark navy blue hair. As the head of the noble Phantomhive family, he typically dresses in a way that suits his standing, and has an extensive and elegant wardrobe.

He nearly always wears a black eye patch over his right eye, not because he is missing it, but because that is where the sign of his Faustian Contract with Sebastian Michaelis is hidden. Typically, he wears a black eye patch with a single cord with his day wear, and a medical-looking, white patch which fastens with two cords when at home or while in disguise.

Ciel wears two rings. One is an ornate silver piece holding an emerald-cut deep blue stone, a one-of-a-kind family ring that has been passed down through his family for generations. He wears this on his left thumb, as it is an adult's ring and too large for him.

The other is a gold seal, or signet, ring in the form of the family crest, worn on his right hand, and used to stamp the wax seal on documents. The seal was given to him byAngelina Durless after his return, telling him it is the only one left as the other rings are destroyed in the fire.

Personality

Ciel is a very strict and proud character, with a general cold outlook on life. As proud as he is, his main goal in life is for those who have betrayed the Phantomhive family to experience the same level of humiliation and suffering he did. He willingly chooses to fulfill his revenge, despite his aunt's insistence that he should pursue a happier life.

He is extremely loyal to Queen Victoria and aims to accomplish his given tasks. He is also punctilious on orders as he expects Sebastian Michaelis, his butler, to complete them accordingly. Ciel often finds it entertaining to challenge Sebastian, whether in the areas of strength or skill.Nonetheless, Sebastian and he work together often, and only his butler seems to be aware and knowledgeable of Ciel's schemes and plans, in contrast to the other Phantomhive servants.

Ciel is competitive, in which he acknowledges it himself, saying that he would not lose in a competition during Frances Midford and his hunting contest. He was not appeased to have a draw with Frances and insisted for another round until the victor is prominent. Sebastian has noted that Ciel is arrogant and overly confident in his skills to the extent that he has the viewpoint of 'there's no way I can ever lose'. Therefore, there are still some childish traits in Ciel that would need to be corrected by the adult he respects.
